CORT Community Housing provides good homes to people who need them. They offer permanent  housing and a supportive landlord service to people and whanau on low incomes in Auckland, including those whose lives have been disrupted by mental ill health.

In FY24 we funded CORT to better understand the outcomes and social value of its housing services to people with mental health needs. For tenants who are housed for one or more years, the average number of bednights in hospital reduced by 92%, from 122 bednights to 10. This highlights that improving the quality and stability of housing also supports improved health and a reduction in health spending.
